Same Same, But Different

With the return to office becoming a more palpable reality to the working world, half of us are preparing ourselves for that transition back to “real” clothes, real people, and shared spaces, but what about those of us who never left? The transition back to office is a major step that comes with its own unique challenges such as needing to find childcare, relearning how to budget your time and energy, and just getting used to being a member of a social collective again. Not diminishing the impact this has on those involved, but what about the rest of us? What about those members of our working world who never left the office or clinic? It can be daunting and albeit frustrating at times hearing the struggles our friends and family are expressing with this new transition, but wanting recognition of never leaving deserves its own space. If you’ve been considered one of the steadfast “essential employees” during COVID-19, this one’s for you. Are you feeling burnt out, ready for a change of pace, or just ready for a recharge? This article will guide you through some helpful options that your local Crossover care team can provide to help ensure all voices are heard and have equal solutions to the issues pressing in their lives.

As a fellow essential employee, I want to start out by saying thank you to those of you who have performed their duties incessantly during one of the most uncertain times in our present society. To the teachers, healthcare workers, cleaning staff, warehouse workers, delivery drivers, grocery store employees, gas station attendants, and anyone else who’s unwavering commitment to their craft held true during this pandemic–your work, your efforts, and your commitment to helping keep us all afloat has not gone unnoticed. 

The Weight of the World Can Feel Heavy.

The responsibility that comes with being an essential employee is great. But along with that great responsibility comes burnout, exhaustion, and a sense of weariness. During these times, a focus on self-help, self-health, and teamwork can be the burning light to guide us through these tough times.
